What can I build with Kazoo?

Kazoo is the only API-based platform that lets you control phone calls via APIs, attach actual SIP-compliant phones to the service, run a call center, send and receive SMS messages, place video calls, hold conference  calls just to name a few. If it involves telecommunications, there's an API on our system for it.

Can I see some examples?

Sure. Check out our Wiki for some help tutorials and samples. 

What languages can I use to write 2600hz applications?

PHP, Python, Perl, Erlang, Java, Javascript, Ruby SDKs are available to get you started. Any programming language that can make a web request should work, though.  

What can I not build with Kazoo?

We don't currently transcode video (we're working on it). Besides that, you can build any telecom application you can think of.

How do the APIs work?

We use simple REST APIs for configuring and integrating with our existing applications. You can create voicemail boxes, set up devices, create dynamic IVRs and more using our current APIs. You call them and we save the configuration and route and handle the calls for you.
We can also use HTTP callbacks. When someone dials a phone number, we'll reach out to your server and ask you what you want us to do with the call. In addition we allow access to our AMQP stack for direct, high-speed messaging for the most performance demanding applications. See our documentation for details.

Is there a limit to how many APIs I can use?

Nope. You can use them all day long.

Can I build services for resale on Kazoo?

Yup. In fact, we'll even help you bill for them. Build multi-tenant accounts and the telecom app of your dreams, right on the platform.
